5 INCREDIBLE LANDSCAPES IN VIETNAM APPEAR IN KONG: SKULL ISLAND (KING KONG FILM)
Vietnam
attracts tourists by not only its poetic, natural beauty but also unique
culture and friendly people. In
October 2015, director Jordan Vogt-Roberts came to Vietnam and spent about 1
month to travel across the country to inspect feasible sites for the
blockbuster Kong: Skull Island. Jordan Vogt-Roberts says: :”I can not help
being in awe of the country and determine to render Vietnam on the screen the
same way New Zealand I used as a backdrop for the Lord of the Rings films. Then
he chose Tam Coc, Trang An and Van Long natural reserve in Ninh Binh; Tu Lan
cave system and Phong Nha cave in Quang Binh; Ha Long Bay to record for his
film.

chose those places in Vietnam for his film with Vietnam Eco Travel !
11, Tràng An
Trang An is a scenic
area in Ninh Binh, Vietnam renowned for its boat cave tours. On 23 June 2014,
at the 38th session of the World Heritage Committee in Doha, the Trang AnScenic Landscape Complex was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Surrounded
by mountains, Trang An has another name is “ Ha Long Bay on Land ” because the
scenery is as beautiful as Ha Long except the sea. Join in boat trip in Trang An to see natural and amazing scenery of this
landscape with a lot of magical caves such as Sang Cave (Light Cave), Toi Cave
(Dark cave), Nau Ruou Cave (Cooking Rice Wine cave) with green river that you
also can see the bottom of it. You will understand why it is considered as
" Halong Bay on Land ".
2, Tam Cốc
Tam Cốc is situated in Van Lam village, Hoa Lu district, Ninh
Binh province. Recognized as a special national heritage, Tam Coc is often
called ‘ Ha Long Bay on the land ’ for its system of limestone grottoes and
historical relics from the Tran dynasty in the 13th and 14th century.
Tam Coc , literally "three caves", consists of three natural
caves — Hang Ca, Hang Hai, and Hang Ba. To reach Tam Coc, you must board a
small boat at the wharf and get rowed up the sinuous Ngo Dong River pass Xuyen
Thuy cave and pockets of rice fields. Tam Coc is charmingly beautiful in any
season. In spring, bright green rice fields spread along the river banks,
turning into silky yellow beds in the fourth lunar month. In the summer while
traveling on the Ngo Dong River,
visitors will enjoy an enticing lotus fragrance while listening to the locals
recounting legends about each cliff or mountain in the shape of a tortoise or
dragon head.
3, Van Long Nature Resever
Located
in Gia Vien district, Ninh Binh. Van Long Natural Reserve , known as the “
Preserved Nature Area” of Ninh Binh,
offers wonderful views of landscapes and rural life. Compared to Tam Coc and
Trang An which are more popular tourist attractions, Van Long is much more
primitive and completely untouched.
Rivers,
mountains, grottoes, rice paddies, old houses, friendly locals, tiny – bamboo
boat riding,etc all contribute to make Van Long to be a must see attraction for
travelers. Tourists who come to admire the reserve will have the opportunity to
view rich flora and fauna, particularly the rarely – seen silver langur, within
the most bio – diversified wetland in Vietnam, according to international and
national research findings.
Not
only is the nature reserve, Van Long wetland is a place with attractive
landscape. Van Long is known as “the bay without wave” because when going on a
boat, visitors will see a flat surface like a big mirror. Watercolor painting
is reflected by the strong sculpt of limestone: Meo Cao Mountain, Mam Xoi
Mountain, Hom Sach Mountain, Da Ban Mountain, Nghien Mountain, Mo Coi Mountain,
Co Tien Mountain…
4, Tu Lan Cave System
Tu Lan cave system is located in
Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park which has been
a world cultural organization UNESCO as a world natural heritage. There
are many beautiful caves in this limestone mountain are with stalagmites and
stalactites. It also has underground rivers and waterfuls. Tu Lan Cave System
includes over 10 caves which were originally discovered and explored in 1992
and some of them were just found in the past some year recently. Visiting Tu Lan
Cave Systems, travelers will have to trek through remote jungle, cross through
buffalo fields, be surrounded by limestone mountains on all sides and plunge
into underground rivers that wind through mountains and river valleys alike.
5, Ha Long Bay
Ha Long Bay is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and
popular travel destination in Quang Ninh province. It is famous for its scenic
ocean karts tophography and pristine natural beauty.There are about 1969 limestone
rising from the sea and several large
caves located within the island. The biggest cave in Ha Long Bay is “ Dau Go ”
cave (Wooden head cave) and some other magical caves such as Thien Cung cave
(Paradise cave), Sung Sot cave (surprising cave), etc.
